particles system in HLSL & renderMonkey

i use render Monkey samples (*.rfx files), exactly the particles system sample,  i have used the .fx file into my porgramm , RenderMonkey use for this sample the SCREENALIGNEDQUAD (*.3ds file) , but me i convert it to .X file (it is about 100 parallele squares) , now the result is not the same? the particel system in Render monkey is so bieutifull but the particles in my programm are not?
