Fogmaps?
Hi,
I''ve been reading a lot of info about volumetric fog and how to calculate it. I understand how it works with just verex fogging but there is VERY limited info about using fogmaps. As i understand it they create a grid of points accross a surface, but I still can''t seem to get my head around how this is implimented...
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
It like lightmapping, but instead of storing lighting values in the texture, you store fog values that are raytraced in realtime. The fogmap textures are applied just as lightmap textures are.
