vertex shader setting color and fragment shader setting color

I have a simple model rendered

in vertex shader i set output vertex color to be 1,1,1,1

then in fragment shader i change fragment color to 1, 0 ,0 ,1

but my model stays white

Going to need a bit more information than that... How do you draw your model? What do your vertex and fragment shaders look like? What have you tried already to fix the problem?
