Unity [Unity] How do I use a custom shader

Hi again, I'm wondering how to use a custom shader. For example, a guy posted his custom shader which can make something look like flowing water: http://algoholic.eu/animated-water-shader/#comment-172452


How can I go about implementing this in Unity? I just tried to create a mesh plane with the shader in question attached to it, but I'm not sure where to add the texture, and that's when I realized I have no idea how to use this.


All I'm really looking for is a brief overview of how to do it.. I can google the specifics..
