Hello,

I am making a Java applet for the very first time.

I tried to load some images and applet.getImage worked nice except that it returns an Image, and not a BufferedImage which is what I need (the image is a texture atlas, and I need getSubimage)... Then I tried ImageIO.read and it worked in my Applet Viewer (Eclipse IDE). Now, will this work in browser? And if not, how can I convert an Image to BufferedImage. Plain cast gives me ClassCastException... I saw some answers and they all say I should create a blank BufferedImage and then draw the image using it's graphics.. But I want something simpler (I hope there is a simpler way, or, even better, that ImageIO works in the browser).

Thanks,

Mateja
