Backwards Compatibility of Source Libraries

If I write source files for something using DirectX7 (what I have on hand) and somebody else tries to compile the source code using version 8, will it work? - Lubb
RPD=Role-Playing-Dialogue. It's not a game,it never was. Deal with it.

If I remember right, yes, it works. Although the older DirectX-Functions aren''t explained anymore in the help-files...
