This should be fun. The quick reference makes it look so easy too. (Looks like for D3D12 users they'll have no trouble jumping over).

None of my computers has a new enough graphics card for Vulkan drivers. Very disappointing.

OK, so I've tried to download the LunarG Vulkan SDK... 404... I swear to Dave that if I have to sign in to get it I'll murder someone...
... and the docs are behind a bloody sign in wall as well...

ffs... I'm sick of having to bloody 'sign in' for every fucking thing... Christ on a bike...

First AMD GCN Gen1,2,3 beta drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Vulkan-Beta.aspx

Looks like XP is (reasonably) not supported.

Time to get a new computer that was not built in 2011 then :).

On a less ranting note; this page could be interesting http://vulkan.gpuinfo.org/listreports.php

Only 3 results so far but of note; NV 980 only exposes one queue type... although depending on the meaning of 'count' you might have 16 of them...

(I'd know, if the docs weren't behind a sign-in wall...)

A site like that would be really helpful for D3D12 programming too...

OK, so things I've tried...

- Download SDK for Windows : 404. (maybe sign in works?)
- Look at docs : Behind sign in wall
- Download drivers : Nothing exploded so AMD get a win there...
- Tried caps viewer from above site : missing a Qt module...

For something which wasn't released sooner because they didn't want to 'rush' it the whole thing just feels like a half arsed release frankly... disappointment upon disappointment and that's before the evitiable driver bugs hit...

gg Khronos and all involved...
