Can anybody tell me something about what is QuakeC?

I''ve never used it and I don''t know a whole lot about it, but I think I heard that Quake C was a powerful scripting language for Quake that was used for AI and bot creation and stuff.
Yes, maybe my question was rather loose. I´ve read in an old magazine that ID made their own version of the C programming language and called it QuakeC. Is that technique still used?
QuakeC is the language used to make the progs.dat and qwprogs.dat for Quake1/QuakeWorld. The QuakeC source when compiled turns in to progs.dat and that''s used for the actual game info (not the engine). QuakeC is pretty much like C except simpler. To make mods you change the progs.dat. Quake2 and 3 don''t use this, only Quake1. So don''t bother learning it since the only use of knowing it is being able to make Quake mods.

Well, the source is out there, so I guess it''s possible to adapt
it for your own game, if you are inclined to do so.

Ok, Thanks! I wasn´t planning to learn QuakeC. I just wanted to know something about it, and what you told me was very useful, so thanks again!
