Modal Normals

Could anyone point me to somewhere where I could learn how to calculate normals, I have to program that loads a modal from a text modal format that has triangle''s stored in it. thanks

Are you wanting the unit normal, or surface normal?

You can use glEnable(GL_NORMALIZE);
if you want to enable opengl to use unit normalization, but only if all of your normals have a lenght of 1.0.
