The Matrix doesn't have you........

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I am currently trying to create a set of tutorials for DX8 in VB(simple stuff) and have come up against a nice non-spinning triangle type problem. I have been unable to implement matricies in any way, even after consulting MANY tutorials. It''s probably something really small and stupid, but i would really appreciate any help u could give. If you wish to see my code email me at necromunda50@yahoo.com

Um, maybe you should read some tutorials and learn the stuff before you go writing a tutorial about it.
Not to be rude or anything. I am just pointing out the obvious.

You may be trying to use transformed vertices. Transformed vertices are not affected by matrices, as they have already been transformed.

Maybe you''re using D3DFVF_XYZW flag in your CustomVertex type.
W represents the homogenous coordinate. I mean the vertex is already transformed.

Here is a standard vertex type:

Public Type CUSTOMVERTEX
'' Untransformed coordinates in model space
x As Single
y As Single
z As Single

'' Color for the vertex
dwColor As Long
End type

Public Const D3DFVF_CUSTOMVERTEX = (D3DFVF_XYZ | D3DFVF_DIFFUSE)

Hope that''s the problem or that stuff is useless...
