I''ve started an intro screen to my game and I wanted to know how to set up DirectShow to play avi files in DirectX 8 under exclusive mode. I''ve search around and found that I would have to use DirectDraw and that would require me to use DirectX 7, but I want to have my code just written for DirectX 8. Are there any suggestions for getting exclusive mode, and if I have to use Directx 7 and Directx8 how would I integrate them. I am using Visual C++ and I''m making a 3d Car game. Thanks flashlaser

Well I don''t know how to use direct show but I can answer your other question. You dont need to intergrate DirectX 7 and 8, it might not seem like it but DirectX 7 is kind of inside DirectX 8. Direct Draw is still there just not supported. This is because DirectX is highly backwards compatible, all you have to to do is inclide ddraw.h to use direct draw in DirectX 8. So you can use direct draw in version 8. Hope that helps,s orry I can''t help you with actually using Direct Show though
