MFC OpenGL tools

Hey my good friends, I''m coding an MFC OpenGL tool framework for making level editors and whatnot. I have one set up with 4 views (top, side, front and perspective) but i''m uncomfortable with the view. I want to create a view like that in Blender where you can rotate one Giant view and your mouse will be on the same plane. I don''t know how do quite describe it. I''ve tried to rotate my current mouse position by a matrix but that just works for the XY plane, the others are all messed up.
