How to load normal maps in D3DX9?

If I got a handle called

LPDIRECT3DTEXTURE9* textures;

somewhere in my mesh or submesh class.

Do I just load them separately with

D3DXCreateTextureFromFile

and then

I just

device->SetTexture(0, diffuseMap);
device->SetTexture(0, normalMap);
device->SetTexture(0, specularMap);

 

I used to find a lot of such information on the web, and don't know where they have gone.

Probably bumped down by google

i think you must load in settexture passing different indexes to it.

SetTexture(0, diffuseMap)
SetTexture(1, normalMap)
SetTexture(2, specularMap)

It's some time i don't use dx9, but i remembre this...

Then in shader you must declare them with the right value (i don't remember how)...
