Physique vs DirectX

Anyone knows how to use Physique modifier in 3DSMax4 in compatible with DirectX? After exporting it to X file, I can''t get it to open using the "LoadSkinMeshFromXof()". It keeps clunking out. Any input will be helpful. Thanks, Toyemann
