Hello, I am just evaluating the new PR-engine using the trialversion from this site. The problem I''ve got; the Landscape Studio crashes every time I try to open a file that has a PBS attached. The example files shipped with the trial I cannot open at all. When I build landscapes I can open and close files at will. Whenever I place an object with a PBS-part, however, I cannot reopen the file after closing. Landscape goes to limbo displaying "Contact manufacturer". Well, here I am. Configuration PII-450 // 256 Megs RAM // Matrox G400 running newest drivers // Win98 SE // DirectX 8.1 (problem also appeared running DX8.0a) What''s the problem here? a) Trial version b) Video board c) RAM Sincerely Stephan Bayer Blissware Entertainment Worms, Germany

Hello Chris,

I opened the file
E:\PR4\examples\highlevel\SimpleLand\level1\world1.lpj. The Landscape waits a moment, an than crashes with the Messagedialog!
I installed all PR4-Files on the E: Drive.

Yes but where are the .PBS files? They need to be in the \packages directory, and the related textures in \leveltex.
These are subdirectory off the \pr4\utility\lstudio\bin directory.

It just sounds like you loaded something from another directory and it''s not finding it again once the paths are stripped off it in the level file.

Hello Chris,
your question brought me on the solution. After I copied the PBS files into the Packageverzeichnis of Landscape, my test level ran problem-free. Thanks! Your engine pleases us very well. Greeting
