mip-mapping

Has anyone gotten mip-mapping to work in DX8? There doesn''t seem to be any documentation on it except when you set a texture (levels of mips)!

What the documents don''t say is that you need to generate the mip-map levels manually.

DirectX creates all the texture levels automatically, but they are empty textures, cleared to white. You need to fill them yourself.

I really hate the documents.
