Hey!

This is Craig,

I read the FAQ over here: http://www.gamedev.net/page/reference/faq.php/_/for-beginners-r1, however, I'm having some difficulty in using the "right" tools to get started.

Okay so here's my objective:

- Learn to code Python and C# (whichever one is easiest and best to learn first)

- Create a web based game from the ground up.

- Make it compatible with Windows 10 and Linux (I am using Windows 10, however, I have a Chromebook loaded with KDE)

I'm not sure which one I should learn and how to actually get started (Ex. Tools, Programs, and Tutorial Websites to help me get started)

Thanks a bunch!

Craig.

You should take a look at Unity. but if you have no experience yet in making games, then i suggest Gamemaker studio. Unity has a build in code editor that uses c#. And unity has also a easy build your game system. So your game can be easy converted to desktop version or web based games.

You can find a lot of tutorials on youtube and on the internet for Unity. just quick google and you will find something.
