On a dual-graphics system, is there a way with DX9 to select which chipset to use when creating the device? I've seen several applications using OpenGL that can specify the GPU to use, but I'm not finding such an option with DX9.

IDirect3D9::GetAdapterCount returns 1, and I'm not finding a way to get information about the other GPU.

Thanks!

Are we talking about a laptop with a Hybrid Graphics (ie, Notebook) setup or just a desktop with 2+ GPUs?

D3D9 would only let you enumerate adapters that had a physical monitor connected to them, so even in a machine with 3 GPUs like this desktop, GetAdapterCount only returns 1, since all monitors are connected to the same physical card. D3D10 let you enumerate headless adapters and create devices on them.
