I would like to know where to start in programming my own multiplayer game. I know how to manage sockets, but don''t know how to deal with timings, what to transfer, when transfer, when to update, what do draw, what to receive, etc... And would like to know a place for reading such info if there is one. Thanks.

There are some good articles on multiplayer network implementations and design at Gamasutra in paticular one called 15,000 archers on a 28.8 or something like that.
