I''ve started coding my game engine and I have looked around the net for ideas. I have found there are graphic engines, particle engines, physic engines. What other kinds of engines are there and how would these engines be integrated into a game. Basically I want to know how professional game makers would organized their classes. Could someone show me some short class definations and how they would interact together to form a game engine. Right now my engine has a class which inherites from my other classes which are d3d class, dinput class, dsound class, and dshow class. I plan to add a map loading class, file io class and error class. Later on I would like to add open gl support so how would a object have a texture and be rendered without be API specfic. Right now my car class is direct x dependant for textures. It has a LPDIRECT3DTEXTURE (or whatever it is, forgot the name) as a private variable and its car texture is loaded into it. Thanks flashlaser
