Except that D3DCompile didn't exist when D3DXCompileShader was created.
Now I have D3dcompiler_47.dll ... it's a 3.53mb file. I'm not sure about creating a 3.53mb file dependency for a 400kb library just to simplify the use of a few files.
Either that, or I see how I can generate and use all the necessary CSO files with the various combinations of settings.
