listening on serial and printer port

Yikes, haven''t done this for ages. You definitely use CreateFile, but instead of passing a filename, you pass something like:


Having just looked at the MSDN documentation, they just use "COM1" as a filename, so that might work also.

To configure the device properly you need to know about COMMDCB structures etc. so it''s worth taking a look at the documentation. Look up BuildCommDCB and look at the associated section in MSDN.

I wrote a small console program that could read and write to the parallel port, but I''ve since lost it. It didn''t use anything complicated at all, but I forget what I did...
