Alpha Blending Modes of ID3DXSprite Interface

How do you change them? the usual d3dDevice->SetRenderState( ... ) yields no effect. -Vulcan

I haven''t tested this, but it should work. You would have to call sprite->Begin() then set your states, because Begin sets them up the way it likes them. And if you don''t call Begin, each time Draw is called, it calls Begin internally, so explicitly call Begin.

Though if you''re feeling constrained by D3DXSprite, you might be better off writing your own, it''s not hard and there are a couple of other Sprite-type wrappers available. D3DXSprite is not very flexible, but it''s a handy prototyping tool.
