Hello, I want to start building a basic 3d engine, but I can`t find anything easy readable or tutorials. I have got books explaining the workings of DirectX, but not how to setup classes and the general layout of a 3D engine. I do not need a comprehensive book about the most efficient way to program a engine with all neat effects, but just the basics. Does anybody know where I can get this info? It can be a book or some adress on the Internet. TIA. Kenny

You''ll probably have a better response in the Graphics Programming and Theory forum, rather than Game Design.

The Zen of Direct3D Game Programming is all about making a 3D engine. Its a great book, and teaches you also how to make you own font engine, and instead of locking FPS, it teaches you how to let it fluctuate.
