Autonomous Robot Programming in 256 bytes

After a few months of hard work I’m proud to announce the Assembly Cup to a more general audience. The gist of the competition is programmers write or machine learn small?—?nearly tweet-sized?—?programs to fight over in-game resources which represent real world prizes.

Today I’ve emailed some potential sponsors this document which breaks down how they can brand our contest and contribute to the contest. If you are interested in sponsoring this event contact kristopher.ives@gmail.com with your inquiry. The goals are modest and we are aiming for a $1,000 prize pool?—?all of which is paid to contestants.

Contestants are also urged to fill out the parameters survey since the game can be played many different ways and I am interested in feedback.

Want to participate but don’t trust your programming skills? Download and run the Sandbox and open the Genetics tool which you can use to evolve your own bot.
