Hello forum!

Do you know any proper sources where I can learn on how to do an (blurry) outline-shader for 2D sprites via GLSL?

There are quite some resources on the internet but they use different implementations, barely can judge which one is good practice and what is a terrible sin.
I read about just duplicating the sprite, colouring it to the wished solid colour and applying some sort of blur. That sounds very inefficient though, haha.
Isn't edge detection way faster?

I can see how inverting the original piece would be one way, but that probably requires duplicating again.

I never worked with GLSL/shaders before but am curious to learn one or two things via this.

Thanks for taking your time to read my thread!

Edit: Oh, this thread probably belongs in the graphics category!! Sorry! Edited by Angelic Ice
