Hello!

 

I'm working on a new project - currently I'm planning on what technologies to use.

Application is Windows-only, therefore I was curious on how Microsoft created Visual Studio's design?

 

Especially not having the usual Windows bar on top of the window and a fluent transition to the application itself.

Do they simply hide the bar and implement their own? How does this black magic work : )?

 

Is there a way to do this in C#? I know that Electron could achieve something like that.

But having a bit of a C#-practice is something I would really like to have.

Pretty much everything custom drawn.

Since you're on C# and Windows, try Weifen Luo's Dockpanelsuite. It's available via NuGet and provides a nifty Visual Studio like panel base. I've used it in a few projects and it works nicely. Edited by Endurion
