That was surprisingly fast, although it was pretty smart of the attackers to try the list of existing Webkit defects first.

I guess we're now counting the days to the next required update.  I wonder how long until the next vulnerability is disclosed.

Indeed! My thoughts too.

Hazards of using non-bulletproof 3rd party stuff and thus accidentally introducing vulnerabilities into your code.

Given that you need physical or remote access to the software to hack it, you'd think they would have kept a better eye on the doors they opened into the software. There's only so many doors required for ET to phone home etc. Apparently they left this one unlocked and wide open.

Consoles don't really have a great track record with security know-how.

OTOH they're pretty massive targets, so...
