I am currently working on a small 2D project that (duh) requires sprites. I make games just as a hobby and cant afford an artist or buying icons, so I want to know: what are the websites where I can find free icons which I can use in commercial and noncommercial projects without crediting the author? Currently I use pictures I simply find on google and some top-down sprites pack, but while I can use it while making my game it wouldnt be fine for a published game.

I'm not sure what you mean by icons. Do you mean static images (not tilesets or spritesheets) or app icons/logos?

Sorry, I wasnt very specififc about what I want. I need some sort of skill and meu icons (current ammo, gas etc.) and, if available, free top down sprites for shooters and etc.
