Hello Everybody ,

I was going through a technical paper which I wanted to implement . The paper  describes an ambient occlusion method called SSDO.

Under the third topic "Near-field Light Transport in Image Space" it is written :

"We assume that Lin can be efficiently computed from point lights or an environment map."

Can somebody please explain in detail what these assumptions are . I understood the part after this that talks about visibility. Sorry if this is not the right forum to post to. I have also attached a PDF to this post of the same paper.
