I need help with a turn-based iOS strategy game

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I've completed a prototype of a turn-based iOS strategy game with programmer art.  I need help from an artist to finish it!

About the game

The game is called Pocket Lords.  It's a 2D, turn-based strategy game in a medieval setting.  The campaign map portion of the game is heavily influenced by the Total War series of games (territory management, army building, etc.)  The game battles, which take place on a hexagon map, are heavily influenced by classic hex-based war games such as Civil War Generals 2 and The Battle for Wesnoth.

I've attached a few screenshots of the game with programmer art.  You can also see a development trailer and some gameplay videos on my YouTube channel:

I can also send anyone who is interested with a beta build that you can play on your iPhone/iPad to try out the game.

You can check out the game's website as well.

A little about me

I'm a long time software developer with a day job that doesn't involve games.  I build games on the side with the hopes of growing a secondary income or perhaps one day being able to develop games full time.  I live around Dallas, Texas, USA.

What I need help with

I'm looking for a creative partner to help me finish this game.  (I have other fully finished games with programmer art as well.)  It would be helpful if you have an iPhone or an iPad, since this game is for iOS.  Ideally, you are gainfully employed like me but you want to build something of your own on the side.

If you're interested in helping me out with this project or even if you just want to try the game out, please contact me at  I'd love to chat with you about our options for working together.

Thank you for reading!

We have developed a mobile game and everything is ready from tested builds, trailers, setting up of stores (iOS and Android) etc but we are confused in terms of whether there can be any legal complications. Game designing, development etc everything is done by us. The publication company role was to set the marketing platform for this game.
Now this publication company is delaying the release month after month and the latest date which is proposed by them is January next year.
We are thinking of self publishing but we are worried whether there can be any legal complications showing these profiles.
What are the best possible ways for us to publish this game?

I'm looking to form a new game development team, mostly for training purposes.
      About me:
I'm a student - Unity C# developer, who worked part-time in this industry for a couple of years already. I've been a lead developer in many "random collab groups" as well as a few companies. I specialize in creating 2D games for Android, but I'm looking forward to trying out new things - especially 3D development.
Currently, I've got one Android game close to a release so I'd work for this team in my spare time.
      About the project:
I've been thinking about creating a simple tycoon-like simulation game for Android (and PC eventually), inspired by the Game Dev Story (initially released by Kairosoft in 1997)
I haven't done much planning though, therefore I'm looking forward to hearing out your ideas.
Right now, I've only created a test 3D scene using placeholder models and implemented a simple pathfinding system for me to play around with:
I'm looking to work with people who are:
      - willing to take a position of a: 3D modeller/2D artist/Designer
      - not necessarily very experienced, but eager to learn and improve their skills
      - active - check in at least once a day
If you'd like to apply for a different position which I didn't list here, you are welcome to contact me as well.
While this project is created mostly for learning purposes, if we ever get to release it and generate any revenue - you will recieve a certain percentage of it.
      To Apply:
      Send an email to
Introduce yourself and attach an example of your work (if you have any)
