3D Animating the tractor of the truck?

The head of the truck should be the root and the tractor is its child, it's okay, where should I put the pivot of the tractor, in my setup, I put the pivot of the tractor at the rear of the tractor, which gives a large degree of swing and is pretty okay, when I link up the head with the tractor, I think though I've done it correctly because I exported out the mesh and seeing that the tractor frame is below the head frame.

However, I don't understand when I animate the head, that is to move the head forward, the tractor moves along, however, when I move the tractor on itself, it breaks apart. I've tried to move the pivot to the very front of the tractor near the rear of the head (front part),  and the very rear of it, it still breaks into 2 parts....
