Feedback on my first game Asteroid Challenge

Recommended Posts

Hi, I released my first game for mobile and tablet, Asteroid Challenge, which is a simple but difficult arcade space shooter where you must repair your spaceship in order to escape an asteroid galaxy.

Here is the challenge, to try to escape. Will you be able to escape?

I would really appreciate any kind of feedback, ideas or comments so I can learn more!

Thanks a lot for your time!

Hi, I've been playing your game for a while - quite a good idea actually!

I liked the overall style, art and sounds.

There are couple things that (in my opinion) can be improved:

1. App icon is a bit strange, not stylish

2. I expected to see more types of enemies - do you have plans for this?

3. Also, custom ship upgrades would be quite cool!

You may try and critique my project as well

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

  1. I will take on consideration the icon thingy! you are the first one that mention that hehehe :)
  2. I am planning a second version of the game, with maps, levels, minigames and more enemies.
  3. Yes, I am also planning different spaceships, attacks, and even you can have your own spacestation!

Thanks again for your time!

Hello, I'm trying to design a maze using a mix of procedural and manual generation. I have the maze already generated and would like to place other objects in the maze. The issue is the maze object is created on BeginPlay and so I'm unable to view it in the Editor itself while dragging the object to the Outliner. Any suggestions?
I'm thinking of doing something in the Construction Script or the object Constructor but not not sure if that would be the way to go.
I'm still getting familiar with the Engine code base and only have a little experience in Maya or Blender since I'm a programmer.

      Hello,
I recently started going into GameDev for real and I made simple game for iOS platform. It is written in Swift and uses SpriteKit framework. Please give me some feedback about my game because i don't know if I have any potential for making games. I don't want make mobile games but it is some sort of warm up.

      Hi everyone!

I am from an indie studio that has received funding for our concept and is ready to create the next generation 2D Pokemon-inspired MMORPG called Phantasy World. This ad is for a volunteer position but hopefully will transition into something more. Our vision is to create a game that draws inspiration from the series but is dramatically different in both aesthetics and gameplay as the work would be our own.

We are hoping that you can help us make this a reality and are looking for game developers familiar with the unreal engine and would be happy to work on a 2D top down game. Sprite artists are also welcome as we are in desperate need of talented artists! Join our discord and let's have a chat! https://discord.gg/hfDxwDX

Here's some of our in game sprites for playable characters while moving around the game world! Hope to see you soon!

      Hello,

I have limited programming experience in C++, but have always had a passion for games.  Where do I start?  I have a rough idea of the type of game I want to develop and am ready to commit the time necessary to learn new languages.  Are mobile games too difficult to begin with? Should I begin learning the basics of keyboard controls before attempting touch screens?  I would appreciate any input or advice!
      Thanks!

Epic released a new feature trailer today as part of their GDC announcements. They're giving several in-depth talks at GDC and showcasing the power of the Unreal Engine in their booth. You can see their full GDC plan here.
