I''ve been looking for a good way to get a user written parameter from a site in to an applet that is on the same site. I have looked up a function in the applet clas called getParameter(String s) that gets the value from a tag in the html. But all examples Ive seen has a constant value on the param value like: Havn''t seen anywhere how to get a variable on the value of the param tag. I am just looking for a way that the user can write in the value.

Guest Anonymous Poster
you can pass in stuff from java script
eg
Applet.SetSomeParameter("String"
where applet is the name of your applet look up "Live connect" on the web for more info.

Another option is to have a CGI program take the user input and generate an HTML page with the tags for your applet and the parameters.

Make it work.
Make it right.
