Sounds set to SOUND_NORMAL still don''t fade properly compared to SOUND_LOOP - will this ever be fixed? Thanks in advance for helping! Petrovski

Are your sounds attached to an entity? I think they only fade if you associate them with one.

Yes they are attached - but I'll look at it again.[though the sounds do fade ok if looped, it's just one shots that don't fade]

I've got some CHR's on my terrain which contain sound but I can't hear them - could this be a similar thing?

I do have sound working ok with DAT's so what's different with CHR's?

Thanks in advance for helping!

It would seem that with non-looping sounds an initial volume is set when the sound starts playing, but then is not updated when the location of the sound changes, so it plays with that original sound level. You probably could set up your own simple volume changing routine that uses the distance formula to see how far away the sound is and then set the volume accordingly. It would be nice if Chris included this though.

just use the LPSOUNDBUFFER routines to change the volume.
