Inquiry Regarding Game Prototype Pitch

Recommended Posts

Greetings everyone,

I am currently working on a proof of concept and a game prototype for a first-person puzzle game but do not have much experience with pitching the concept to potentially beneficial sources. I have also considered that crowdsourcing is a possible avenue worth exploring. What are the potential advantages and disadvantages of working with crowdsourcing? What approaches would be best when pitching this concept?

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This thread has been moved to the Business forum, where three other people have asked exactly the same thing in the past week. Looks like a lot of summer projects ready to cash in!  See the answers those folks got:

Crowdsourcing requires you to wow a crowd with an impressive demo. If you manage to do that, then the game you make with the money might be good enough to pitch to publishers. Or publishers might notice your crowdsourcing campaign and take interest.

Thank you both for the responses! The resources should prove useful. Thus far, crowdsourcing appears to be a viable option, but I will certainly check the provided links in order to view the feedback others have received in this matter. Again, I appreciate the the assistance!
