I'm currently building a multiplayer client/server architecture using NestJS, TypeORM, NATS, Socket.IO, Phaser, and Angular.

I completely agree that developers and publishers as a hole don't listen to their customers. Much of their effort is repackaging old games with new graphic.
For an MMO the fairness and level cap garbage can get flushed down the toilet. Its as frustrating as building mindless armies that get stock upgrades that mindlessly hack each other to pieces.
