I don''t know what''s the problem but when I compile a DX 8.0 SDK tutorial programm and run it then my monitor shuts down and i have to make restart. It''s only with DirectX 8.0 programms. and some DX8.0 programms doesn''t run. I have old ATI Xpert 98 video card. Can someone help me?

I'm not sure you're stating the right card you have, ATI has an XPert 99, but the Xpert series cards from 98 were the @Home and the @Work series.

If the card is the XPert 99, make sure you're running the latest drivers since they support DirectX 8.0 (doesn't mention DirectX 8.1, so I'd stay away from that). Go to ATI's web page if you need an updated driver: http://support.ati.com/issuetype/driverdirect.html?parent=0&folder=68&doc=53

If you have an ATI XPert@Home ot ATI XPert@Work, you're probably going to have to upgrade as ATI states the cards only support up to DirectX 6.
