Why post lists?

Any game that is windows specific may or may not be openGL - games that work on Linux and Mac are most likely to be OpenGL.

PLEASE don''t go down the usual route of which is better ... ''OpenGL or Direct3D'' Use whatever you prefer ... and don''t use other peoples preferences!

Just a thought!

Unreal and Unreal Tournament were originally written with rendering in software and Glide. They were then ported to support DirectX, experimentally to support OpenGL, and experimentally to support S3Metal (whatever that is).

Glide was a plugin renderer that shipped with it, as was PowerVRs native api (anyone remember its name??) and S3Metal.

It IS an api independant engine, as it works with a range of APIs without any issues at all.

Sorry, couldn''t resist the correction.

regarding Zelda64:
well, all N64 games were written specifically with the N64 Microcode libs in mind. The API of the Microcode libs is very OGL like, though. Basically you just use g instead of gl as a prefix.
(of course there are many differences, but it''s not THAT hard to understand N64 source, when you understand OGL

kind regards,
rené

Quake 3, Tribes 2, half life, baldurs gate (2), Alice, Anachronox, Daikatana, Heretic 2/Hexen 2, MDK2, Red Faction, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Neverwinter Nights (which is coming soon), Diablo II, Decent 3...must I go on?

hmmm, I''ve just had a look at my RF box and the read me, it dont say owt about OGL, in fact, from the look and feel of it is seams like a DX game (mainly coz I times I get REALLY sucky fps even at only 1024*768 on a gfx2mx, this is coz I''ve only poked OGL on my system and NOT DX as most stuff I do is in OGL).. I could be wrong, but as the docs dont mension it...

also, Decent 3, I''ve not had a look at it, however again, I''m pretty certain that it''s a DX game as well.
