Global Illumination

Can anyone recommend a good book or web reference that can get me started in writing a simple Radiosity render? I''ve already done a simple whitted raytracer, but what is the difference between a "Two-pass raytracer" and "Path tracer" ?? Thanks

First: Sorry, I can''t register for some reason, so I have to reply. I chose this thread since my question is kinda related to the topic.

Does anybody have played around with the Quake3 map compiler (q3map.exe) ?
If so can you say how hard it would be to add radiosity to the lighting stage? How much longer would the compile times presumably be?

Morgan Kaufmann publishing, the publishers of the Graphics Gems series, has two books. The are Radiosity and Global Illumination and Radiosity and Realistic Image Synthesis. I don''t have the first one and although I have the second one I have yet to work through it. So I can''t actually say they are good, but I can say the exist
