Screen Capture in DX8???

How do i make a texture from the current state of the screen? I''m trying to capture a portion of the screen during play of my game and can''t seem to find a way to load a portion of whats on screen into a texture. Anybody know how? Thanks, zTn

If you are using 8.1...

LPDIRECT3DSURFACE8 *pSurface;
pDevice->GetRenderTarget(&pSurface);
D3DXSaveSurfaceToFile("screenshot.bmp", D3DXIFF_BMP, pSurface, NULL, NULL);
pSurface->Release();
