I''m just geting into OpenGL after Developing with the DirectX API for awhile now and i find i understand OGL more anyways here is my question. I love 2D and that''s what i do so is OGL for me? i''ve heard "Don''t use OGL use SDL" and "Go back to DirectX, OGL isn''t best for 2D" then i get answers like "don''t use SDL 2D is easy in OGL" very confusing, i don''t want any don''t use that or you should be doing this i just want to know if OGL is 2D friendly.

Im sorry, but i havent programmed in 2d as of yet using opengl, but im sure, by what ive heard from many people on this board, that opengl is extremely 2d user friendly, it all depends on how you use the api.

Have you taken a look at Nehe''s site yet? (http://nehe.gamedev.net)

he was working on a 2d gaming project Zelda, which is now released as open source. Download it and take a look - see if its up your alley. Many of his tutorials could help you further in this department also. =D
