Specifying custom clip planes

well, i read Steve Baker''s article on culling to the view frustum and decided to try it out...so, a few questions rose: what planes do i need to use and how are they specifyed, via glClipPlane and then enabling by glEnable or somehow else? Second, if those planes are specifyed via glClipPlanes, what should their A''s, B''s, C''s & D''s look like? And finally, what impact has glFrustum() on those planes? all this may look confusing, but thaks at least for reading it through...
