Using SDL_mixer in windows?

I''ve got OpenGL/SDL/SDL_mixer up and going nicely under Linux, and I''d like to get the same going in Windows so I can try to keep things I''m writing cross-platform. I''ve got OpenGL and SDL (thanks to the cone3d tutorial) going under Bloodshed''s Dev-C++, but I''m a bit stuck on getting SDL_mixer working with it. Anyone have any luck with this? I''ve also tried getting it to work with cygwin. Downloaded the latest cygwin packages, installed, got OpenGL to working right away, compiled and installed SDL fine, but again, problems with getting SDL_mixer to compile. I reckon it''d probably work with Visual C++, but I don''t have that, and it''ll be a couple of weeks before I can get my hands on a copy to give it a try. I''ve been hacking around with it for a couple of days on and off now trying to get it going, so any help or comments from those able to get it working are greatly appreciated
