Got a question and a comment.

I believe you said on your site that the terrain you use a terrain grid, created from a bitmap. What size bitmap are you using for the terrain grid? How much do you scale between each bitmap height value and what type of real world distances do you give this?

For example, say i use a 256x256 bitmap for terrain heights. I want the distance between each pixel to be 30meters. Since 1.0f in opengl represents 1meter, I just use 30.0f as my distance scale. So my 256x256 bitmap should represent 7680meters x 7680meters.

Just wanted to thank you for posting a lot of info on flight simulation on your site (the 6 or 7 pdf files on related flight simulation + your own article on flight simulation)!! Ive been searching the web for BASIC flight model physics for prop airplanes and that info should be of great service to me. Thanks agian and good luck with glHorizon.
