Okay, I''m just about ready to begin production of a "great" game, but I have 3 ideas floating in my head, and don''t know which I should use! So, if you will, please tell me which of the 3 following game ideas you would like to play the most: 1. An RPG with a storyline similar to Lord of the Rings. I don''t mean a storyline like it, but I mean one that is as intricate, detailed, diverse, and fun as LOTR. Basically the RPG would take place in a "fantasy" world setting, with Elves/dwarves/humans/demons/tempists/etc/..You would assume the role of a Elvahan, basically you are one of the rare offsprings of a human and elf, and...well I haven''t really thought of an entire storyline yet. But for time''s sake, let''s say my storyline was just as "cool" as LOTRs, with an entire world for the game to take place in. 2. A futuristic strategy game set on a lush Earth. Think of HALO, and how everything looks, model wise, environment wise, etc, and basically imagine it in 3rd Person View. The game would be incredibly in-depth, not like StarCraft where you command hundreds of units and just throw them at each other, but rather you would command more realistic ammounts of units, with varying attributes/purposes. There would be several races all living on the same planet, including Humans (the most versatile, technology on their side), the Phalanx (an ancient species that was awakened by a certain human corporation), and the SubHumans (basically humans only with slightly different genetic codes who have been enemies with the humans forever). And at any given time you''ll usually try and dispatch different select groups characters who will strategically need to infiltrate enemy bases, and the like..units can hack into enemy computers, raid towers, you name it..Basically this will have all the key fundamentals of war strategy games, only with fully 3D environments, much more complex and tactical approaches, etc. 3. An enormous space game, with hundrends of different space colonies, planets, stars, terraformed asteroids, and the like. This would be a totally non-linear game, where you can choose one of the hundreds of races of lifeforms in the game. Then you can basically do anything. You can fly around the universe of space, visiting places, doing anything. You can purchase a home somewhere, kill people, trade goods, sell weaponry, establish your own company or corporations, anything. You can lay low and become a space bounty hunter, rise to the top of the economic ladder of a location, setup a monopolic fear-inducing corporation known throughout the galaxies, discover new planets....yoouuu name it! soo..what game appeals to you more?

Generic RPG, generic strategy, generic Elite clone. Tough choice.

[EDITED BY MODERATOR] sporty, you response to criticism was over the line and will not be tolerated. If you want to protest someone's criticism of your idea, be civil and leave profanity out of it.

I''d choose the first one, but you know... Diablo, Baldurs gate, etc... it is starting to get old. All games nowadays take place in midieval times, or future. There has to be something else. Thats why games like "The Sims" are so popular.

I''ll still go with the first. Good luck.

sporty:why should I? All of those were already done. And you won''t finish any of them. It simple doesn''r make sense to choose.

Why? To get a firm grasp on games people like to play.

Btw anon-poster..want a non-generic game? Would you like to play a game in which you''re a lumberjack and must cut down as many trees as possible in order to create a super wooden log cabin to stop the evil forces of UNKa_nO3, the hideous hairy legged monsters?

Yes, because non-generic games like those are just the BEST!

Sporty, email me at Re62398@aol.com and we''ll talk about your ideas! I''d talk here but it seems as if people like you and I are not welcome. So send me an email if you read this post again and we can talk.

The last one (space game) sounds pretty cool, but i have one piece of advice: Instead of adding heaps of features (corporations etc.) which are not too detailed, just add a few which are well thought-out and are interesting to use. (P.S. I don''t mean have a really small univerese - massive universes are sweet as, but just try to give the player a smaller set of deep and rich options, rather than a huge set of shallow ones).

I finally got it all together...
...and then forgot where I put it.

After pitching a lot game ideas to many major publishers here is some advice to you:

What is it about your game that differentiates from all the rest?

From what I have read so far it seems like you are basically cloning other popular games.
