.md2 skin help

Alright here''s my problem. I''ve made a model in MilkShape, and the appropriate .tga and .pcx textures. They are both 256x256 pixels, and the TGA is 24bit. I go to skin the model in milkshape, and everything looks great(after using the texture coordinate editor). I export the .md2 file, but after loading the model in OpenGL, the texture is completely off. Now..I''m assuming that the texture coordinate editor doesn''t actually align the texture to the model, rather, it just gives you an idea how it would actually look if it were.... if so, how do I align the texture proporly? Thanks for the help in advance!
