[java] gl4java performance

What isthe performance of Opengl for Java? I managed to install gl4java but test applets run only 30fps or so max. Why even simple demos don't get more fps? Edited by - stefu on January 2, 2002 3:44:00 AM

Sounds like a vsync issue. Try it with jre1.4 fullscrene in an application and see what kind of framerates you get.

There should be a checkbox for "Sleep" that pauses the drawing loop to reach "Acceptable" speeds. Unchecking that ( or calling the appropriate method ) should release most of the potential of the drawing loop.
