I would like to thank all of you in advance for helping me out. 1. I am fairly new to 3D modelling and artwork, but is .md2 the most popularly used? 2. What would be the most commonly used image format for textures and skins? 3. Is there any good (and free) 3D modelling software available for download? Something that I can create boxes, people, trees, etc. with. I am currently using Blender3D... Thanks again!

Yeah, Milkshape''s good. Go to Google and search for "milkshape 3D" (without quotes). I''m using it until I get something better but it''s free, and it''s great for creating decent models. You can save to it''s own *.ms3d file format, or export to virtually any model format existing at the moment (including *.md2 and *.md3).

NeHe''s site (http://nehe.gamedev.net) has a model loading algorithm tutorial, which covers *.ms3d and *.md2...
