thoughts on splash/menu screens in D3D

If I where just going to throw a screen up on the D3D window like a loading screen or a menu screen. Could I simple create a rectangular poly and texture my splash screen *.bmp to it? --Chris

Yes.

Straight from the SDK for SetVertexShader:

D3DFVF_XYZRHW
Vertex format includes the position of a transformed vertex. This flag cannot be used with the D3DFVF_XYZ or D3DFVF_NORMAL flags
